Is now a good time to qualify as a personal trainer?

Find out the best way to qualify and the best way to guarentee success after you are fully qualified with your own personal training business.

A personal trainer is training his client in a gym using battle ropes

To become an industry recognised Personal Trainer you must complete both the Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing and the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training qualifications. We deliver these qualifications via blended learning – giving you the best possible way to get qualified to follow a career that you will love.

With life for everyone changing due to Coronavirus, it feels for some that life has stopped moving forwards.

I know many people who have been affected by this situation. Some in a negative way (financially/emotionally), others who have become busier than ever, and even those who have simply embraced the situation and taken the positive steps to do something that benefits them and their future.

To have a moment when life has had to slow down, and individuals have had to step away from their normal way of life, it has given time to reflect on how some people would like life to be when things turn back to normal.

Obviously as a whole this is a dreadful situation, all you can try to do is reflect, set goals, and use this time wisely whilst being mindful of those around you.

If you are considering becoming a Personal Trainer, let me show you how now could be the ideal time – including a timeline to completion.

As a training provider offering industry recognised qualifications, we have been helping those look forwards and study towards a new career as a Fitness Professional – whether that be a Personal Trainer , Sports Massage Therapist, or a Pilates Instructor. This is made accessible and achievable for our learners by using our blended learning course structure.

What is blended learning?

We have produced our own classroom style videos that are hosted on our website that will allow you to learn the theory element at home and in your own time with full support every step of the way.

This content will cover:

  • Programming – Training clients for Weight Loss, Strength, Muscle Growth and more…..
  • Nutrition
  • Principles of Exercise
  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • How to be a successful Personal Trainer and more..

Your online content will also include additional units to support you once you are qualified (not needed to complete to achieve your qualification, simply here for your future reference and guidance), these are:

  • The PTA Exercise & Coaching Library
  • Delivering Gym Based Exercise
  • Delivering Personal Training Sessions
  • How to Build Your Business as a Fitness Professional

This content can be accessed as soon as you enrol, allowing you to start your journey to becoming a Level 3 Personal Trainer straight away with no waiting around for a course start date – at the end of this article you can find a rough timeline to completion of this content.

By being able to progress through a large amount of this subject knowledge prior to our practical workshops commencing you will be giving yourself a great opportunity to attend the practical dates with knowledge and confidence in what a personal trainers skill set requires.

When and where do the practical workshops start?

Our next available practical workshops will be taking place in Exeter in March.

Our esteemed practical workshops are delivered over 5 different Sundays, allowing our students to practice the skills they are taught.

We deliver these workshops at Fitness First in Exeter, so a nice spacious gym, and an excellent gym to give our students a real insight into the fitness industry, and to allow you to meet the manager so we can give you an overview of how their Personal Trainer set up works – potentially offering you the opportunity to base your business at their facility.

By completing all of the theory and attending the practical workshops you will have all the knowledge and content completed so that we can issue your certificates (issued by YMCA Awards and recognised by REPs and CIMSPA) so that you can call yourself a Personal Trainer and start building your Fitness Business.

Why is now the best time to start your journey to becoming a recognised Personal Trainer?

If you were to enrol onto our Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing course and our Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training course today, you will be able to access this innovative online content straight away and begin your learning journey.

We are receiving great feedback from our students regarding the online content for our courses, the classroom style of each bitesize lesson means it is so much better than just learning from an online manual or an online powerpoint, as it really enables you to understand the theory for this great subject and it allows us to relate all of this to how you will use it as an active Personal Trainer.

Remember you will receive full support from a Performance Training Academy tutor who will be at hand to answer any questions, to help set goals and deadlines, and give you guidance every step of the way.

This is what our students are saying about us:

“I have been been a fitness enthusiast for as long as I can remember.  Over the years I’ve often considered becoming a Personal Trainer, but put it off due to family and work commitments.
After working 20 years in banking, I finally made a decision to follow my dream of helping others lead fitter, healthier lives, so I started to research how I was going to make this happen.
As a mother of two, working full time, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy juggling childcare, work and studies.
I came across Performance Training Academy. I had found a perfect solution giving me an opportunity to study the modules online in my own time. It was manageable and I could work at my own pace.
Ashley Hough of Performance Training Academy has been superb, with a wealth of knowledge and being available for guidance.
The practical sessions complemented the online studies. This also gave me an opportunity to ask Ash anything I was unsure of. They were also so much fun with like minded individuals.
I qualified as a level 3 Personal Trainer in August 2017 and I am excited to be building my own business in the health and fitness industry, and so grateful to the support I received from The Performance Training Academy.”
