This qualification will give you everything that you need to become a recognised Sports Massage Therapist. Providing you with both employed or self-employed career opportunities.

This qualification is perfect for those who want to run their own Sports Massage business either from home, in a gym or at a clinic. It is also an excellent addition to an existing fitness business (such as a Personal Training) to add another service, further knowledge and extra income.

Course structure

As soon as you enrol, you are given immediate access to our online learning platform and will be contacted by your course support tutor to get you up and running. The online content includes all of the theory content, resources and assessments required for your course – it even includes an extensive Sports Massage Techniques video library, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the techniques you will learn and to provide a point of reference for you throughout your career.

To complete your learning, we have practical workshops that you can attend. These are delivered by experienced and leading Sports Massage Therapists, who have their own massage client base – allowing you to learn from their experience and knowledge of the industry and working with clients.

What happens once you are qualified?

As you are working through your studies, your course support tutor will encourage you to start building the foundations for your business. This is not a requirement, but those who do this often complete their qualification with a business brand and paying clients ready to go.

Once you are fully qualified we will work with you to ensure your fitness business as a Sports Massage Therapist is up and running and that you are actively marketing yourself correctly to start growing your client base.

We understand fully that a lot of your questions will come after you are qualified, whether you need business advice or help with training your clients. That is why we are always at hand to help and offer guidance as you look to develop and grow your business – the support does not stop after you are qualified.

Your online learning platform

As soon as you enrol onto this course, you will be given access to your online learning platform. This allows you to start your learning journey straight away from home, and it is fully supported by your own dedicated support tutor who will guide you every step of the way.

Your tutor will be in touch as soon as you enrol and will be at hand to support you through your studies, answer any questions, and give clarity on any part of the course. We can even offer regular accountability calls if it helps. Every individual learns in different ways, therefore we are at hand to help and guide you through every step of your learning in a way that best suits you.

Your online learning platform hosts all of the necessary theory units for your Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy course – including Anatomy & Physiology, Professional practice, Soft-tissue dysfuntion, and much more… It even contains reference lessons from your practical workshops and a fully stacked Sports Massage Techniques Library.

This online platform will be a point of reference for you throughout your career – which is often when you will need to reference these lessons the most. You will receive lifelong access to this information.

Practical workshops

Our practical workshops are delivered by leading fitness professionals, ensuring that you learn from those who have experience and can pass on their own knowledge on how to apply sports massage techniques to a range of different clients and their needs.

The practical workshops complete the course content along with the online work. There are five days in total and these are delivered at excellent physio therapy clinics in a variety of different areas in the UK.

On these workshops you will learn how to professionally and competently use sports massage techniques to treat and assist your clients. Giving you the skill set and knowledge to treat individuals in a clinic, at home or at sporting events.

Re-cap these workshops when you need to

A valuable part to this course is the ability for our students to be able to recap what is taught on these workshops whenever they want to, and they can do that by going back to their online student learning platform. All of the content we cover on the workshops has been added into our online classroom style lessons to allow you to re-learn and refresh whenever you need to by accessing the sports massage tutorial library.

Assessments

It is important when enrolling on to a course that you have a clear timeline to completion and an understanding of what you need to do to pass.

As soon as you enrol, your course support tutor will arrange a call with you so that they can talk you through your assessment plan. This will essentially be your timeline to completion and will set you some motivation with your studies and targets to aim for.

Online assessments

Once you complete a unit online, it can be assessed immediately, allowing you to do the assessment whilst the knowledge is fresh and to save you hanging around for an exam. Our online end-of-unit assessments can all be done from the comfort of your own home when you are ready to do so. Your support tutor will be at hand to help with any revision and to get everything organised for you.

Practical assessments

To showcase the knowledge you have learnt from the practical workshops and the online content, as well as allowing you to show us how you will want to be acknowledged as a Sports Massage Therapist, you will build up a course portfolio of a variety of sports massage treatments that can be performed on friends and family.

You course support tutor will be at hand to help with this every step of the way, this stage of your learning reflects who you are as an individual and it builds up your experience, knowledge and confidence in delivering sports massage to a variety of different individuals.

There will be three observed massages that need to be delivered, two of these are performed within our practical workshops, with one final massage being performed from home. This filmed assessment is again done in your own time and in your own environment, giving a real relaxed sense to the assessment – allowing you to truly be yourself and to also document your transition from study to being a fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist.

Note: we can arrange for this final assessment to be performed in person if needed.

Accredited by:

The Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy is governed by YMCA Awards and is industry recognised, both in the United Kingdom and Worldwide, meaning you can work as a personal trainer anywhere in the world.
Upon completion of our qualifications, you’ll also be able to gain membership with the standardising body for the Health and Fitness Industry – CIMSPA (previously REPS – The Register of Exercise Professionals).

What will happen when you book your course?

As soon as you book your course, using either the pay in full or instalment option, you will receive a receipt of payment and also your log in details for your online learning platform – so that you can get onto your course content straight away.

Within 24 hours your course support tutor will be in touch with you to show you the first steps of your study and to arrange an onboarding phone-call to allow us to make sure you have a full understanding of how to get started and what you will be working through.
